Athens Airport minivan Transfer to Ancient Mycenae
Our first destination on this trip is the Corinth Canal. It will take about an hour to get there. However, on our way along the coastal road, we will be able to see the point in the Saronic Gulf where the famous naval battle of Salamis took place in 48 BC, between the allied Greek city states and the Persian Empire.
When we reach the Canal area, we can view the 6km long Corinth Canal and take photographs. Our next stop is Ancient Corinth. There, at the archaeological site, we will see the Temple of Apollo, the Temple of Aphrodite, the Archaeological Museum and the stand from which apostle Paul used to preach to the Corinthians. After leaving Corinth, our next destination will be King Agamemnon’s Mycenae.
There we will see the Acropolis of Mycenae, the famous Lion Gate, the Treasury of Atreus, father of Agamemnon, the tomb of his wife Clytemnestra and of course, the Museum of Mycenae.
At the end of our tour, before going back to Athens, we can have lunch in one of the lovely restaurants in the area.
