Hephaestus Temple

 

Located at the heart of Athens, within the archeological site of the Ancient Agora of Athens, the temple of Hephaestus is probably the most well-preserved ancient temple in Greece and a classic example of Dorian architecture. The temple was dedicated to Hephaestus, the ancient god of fire and craftsmanship and according to archeologists, it was built around 450 B.C.
It is believed that it was designed by Iktinus, one of the famous architects who also worked on the design of the Parthenon.
